This ancient pokemon has a hard, plastic like hollow top that allows it to float on the surface of water, waiting for prey to surface, or to fly right into its mouth. It usually keeps its fins to its sides, letting the current and the waves push it around.
It breathes air through an invisible slits near the top of its "board". These are very colorful pokemon, and its "board" comes in all colors and designs.
Surfboards today were modeled after this pokemon, after a group of people who watched this pokemon "surf" the waves, performing tricks to get the attention of prey. It can only crawl slightly on land by pushing around with its fins.
Riptyde surfing contests have grown quite popular in Ko, though they are still difficult to train and domesticate.
