Porfyrops developed an extra pair of legs after evolution to help move its massive bulk. In the past it has been hunted for its valuable horn. Its numbers have been steadily increasing in recent years.
When its internal temperature gets too high, it will expell flames from holes in its body. It is usually found around large pools of lava. If it feels threatened it will submerge itself in lava.
Mothers will spend the entire week before laying their eggs completely submerged in lava. Their eggs must be in constant boiling temperatures to successfully hatch.
